Im getting hitched!

yea, took a while to get a new blog post up, but here it is.

My wonderful lady friend and myself have decided to get married.

Our plan is Saturday May 1st, 2010 down at Elephant Rocks State Park.

We picked out a sweet spot on a rocky cliff overlooking the beautiful quarry lake.

Then on Sunday, June 6th, we are inviting all our friends to come out to Spanish Lake Park to help us celebrate it!

Yay!

Gingerbread House mayhem!

So tonight we decided to build a house...

Izze, Amanda and I constructed a Gingerbread House. It was a sweet, fun time. Even Deanna came by to watch!

We spent time constructing the house.

Then spent a lot of time decorating.

At times it could be a little frustrating, but over all, we had a good time!

Then somehow I got a hold of the icing for some decorations.

But of course that was a bad idea and things got a little out of hand from there.

yummy, the icing is so tasty! (check out how the icing is suspended in mid air as it falls to my arm!)

even deanna and amanda had to try some!

In the end though, it turned out ok!

got the new ink!

So finally, this afternoon after work, i went down to see Dustin at All Star Tattoo (on Olive at 170)

got the 2nd (of 4 eventually) monsters from Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

The one I got today is the Grey Bull Wild Thing with Max sitting on his soulders.

I edited the original image from the book to include a meaner lookin Max and Dustin had to edit the monsters hand as the original was arm in arm with the Orange and Yellow Wild Thing.

This guy Dustin does such a good job, if you need a tattoo you should go see him!

Im dreaming of a GREEN christmas...

so i heard on the radio this add about making this christmas season extra 'green' by not using as much commercially produced wrapping paper.

the statistic said that if each American family wrapped 3 (THREE) presents with recycled material, it would save equivalent to 45,000 (FORTY FIVE THOUSAND) football fields worth of paper...

come on now, thats a LOT of paper!

so one of the things they said to use instead of wrapping paper was your childs artwork.... you know all those pieces of paper that the kids draw on and produce their FINEST works of art EVER.. you know the thousands of images you have that you dont want to throw away, but cant seem to find a good place to keep? all those pictures that come home from school, mostly colored between the lines, or strangely shaped and colored animals and other assorted things...

now of course i will have to clear this with Izze first, but she is pretty recycle minded and i think she will be ok with it, but how cool will it be to wrap up all the nice presents weve bought for our family and friends with HANDMADE artwork? damn, i think its genius and i know 10 out of 10 grandparents would LOVE to get their gifts wrapped in this stuff, don't ya agree?

Some other ideas to think about while sitting around on your ass during christmas time....

Turn off your computer monitor when you are not using it!!!
--this will save you money and reduce green house gas emmisions by vast ammounts
--just using the screensaver dosent do much than leaving it powered on.

Reuse your old christmas cards...10 ways to save
--hang on to your old x-mas cards, here are some fun and 'green' ways to use them!

Use a LED christmas lights and USE A TIMER!!
-- nobody is looking at your christmas lights after 9 or 10 oclock,
--or if they do, they dont really care.

i give my thanksgiving to real heroes

This year, ive decided to give out my thanksgivings to some real heroes: the police, commandoes, anti-terrorist squad and soldiers of India.

Men like Hemant Karkare gave their lives to stop what can only be described as chaos in Mumbai while we all sat around and ate our Tofurkey dinners.

what is this world coming to...
