thanksgiving dinner

well its that time of year that we all gather with our families to celebrate the exploitation of the native american people and the stealing and misuse of their land by slaughtering and eating millions of majestic (albeit dumb) land birds.... but i digress...


thanksgiving isnt about the holiday, its about the food, no really its about family,
thats what they say, but if you are going to celebrate it here are a few awesome
cruelty free ways to enjoy your dinner!

my favorite is

Quorn Turk'y Roast

its so good and if you cook it right and serve it correctly, no one would ever know its not real flesh

the Tofurkey Meal is pretty good too


in fact, i suggest both, for variety!

here are some nutritional facts on the difference between Tofurkey and real dead Turkies
regardless of which you might think is better for YOU, the Tofurkey is better for the bird!

and whatever you do, dont forget an extra container of
Tofurkey Giblet and Mushroom Gravy


its the perfect topper to any holiday feast and it can all be gotten for a few bucks down at your local Whole Foods market!

all i want for christmas is....

thought i would just put this out there for all of my wonderful friends who like to buy me stuff for the holidays :)

since my several year old crappy Dell mp3 player started acting up, i guess i need a new one...
im lookin at a few, (anything i get has to at least have 16 gig and a color screen for video and im really leaning toward somethin with WiFi so i can check email etc with it!!!)
but i like this one the best (the IPOD may actually be winning out atm)

though since amanda already had itunes on the computer, i suppose i would settle for an
IPOD touch (even though you know im not an apple fan...)

i like the ipod touch cause it has web and email capabilities!

under the knife... again

So tomorrow morning at 8am, i will be undergoing my second round of sinus surgeries.

I went in last summer to get a bunch of stuff done to help relieve my constant sinus infections and sleeping issues related to not breathing and stuff.
well it didnt work, or rather, my doctor sucked and at the last minute decided that i didnt need one of the procedures done.
well ive got a new doctor now and we are going ahead and doing that other stuff that should have been done last year...
for those of you that know, last years surgery did not go well for me, in fact, pretty much the most horrible time of my life, but my doctor say that this stuff tomorrow isnt anything near as rough as the other stuff i got done.
I sure hope hes right cause i know i dont want to have to go through all that again...
not sure if i can handle THIS again!

So every year, I ask Izze what she wants to be for Halloween, and since she was 2 years old, she has NOT been at a loss as to what she wanted to be. She always has a very specific vision of what it is she is going to dress up as for Trick-or-Treating (including the year she wanted to be the MOON!)

This year was no different. She wanted to be a Vampire. Not a CUTE Vampire, but a SCARY Vampire. So thats what she was!

The makeup process was quite intense for the pre-Halloween Block party and Halloween Festival at school....


but the end result was worth it!
