Day 4, Monday August 4, 2008 --> New Orleans

We walked down to the river front to see the mighty Mississippi and guess what we saw first....

oh rats! look close, ^^ you can see one just left of the steps, on a dark rock, above some moss. he was about 10" long and scared the crap out of me a few moments later when he jumped up on the ledge we were standing on and ran down a hole by my feet.

We checked out the riverfront, was dark, but cool!

Anyway, went out to dinner at the Louisiana Pizza Place, it was way good. Yummy!
Then we headed down toward Bourbon Street. Amanda wanted to go to Preservation Hall to see some live music..

But it is apparently Closed on Monday nights... and Tuesday nights too.. so i guess we wont be seeing any music there.... so we went next door to Pat O'Briens, an old fixture in the French Quarter... that place actually CREATED the Hurricane Coctail. Good stuff! They had this amazing fountain that was actually ON FIRE while the water squirted on it.

After leaving, we ran into the Human Jukebox. He has been singing on the riverfront for 49 years and sounds just like, or better, than 12 famous singers. He sang us a few songs.

Then we strolled back down Bourbon Street and back to the Hotel.

It was an early night, but we were so tired from all the walking around we did today..

Tomorrow were goin on a SWAMP TOUR, im so excited!

  1. I want one of those big ass beers to go!

    Have fun on the swamp tour! Will you get to ride in one of those air boats? An 11yr old boy lost his arm last week in an alligator attack. Maybe you can find it for him.

  2. Haha, no we didnt go on an air boat, they were way expensive, plus they are so loud they scare off the gators and birds. The guy was tellin us that the last confirmed gator attack in LA before that boy was back in 1941. We looked but didnt see his arm anywhere!

  3. Really? I'm shocked the last time in LA was 1941. There were three attacks in Florida just last month.

    I'm scared of your gator pics, but even more horrified that you used the word "biggun." Apparently you've been south too long. Come home soon!
