So we started the day much in the same fashion as we have the last several days of vacation, with the addition of waking up to 'Happy Anniversary' cards and a pretty little thing i bought her in New Orleans.
So then its time for breakfast... made some toast, set the toaster on 3 and it burnt completely, hard, couldnt even bite into it. grrr.
After getting ready, we headed out to the Museum of Agriculture and Forestry. We were very excited about this... hmmm, wasnt what we expected. There was NOBODY (besides a few people who worked there, and some convicts cleaning up) It was a bit disappointing. Not what we expected. Crappy museum and crappy exhibits... then the camera went dead... boo... so we couldnt even take lots of pix of its dismalness...
so we headed back to the hotel for a bit to let the battery charge...
after resting a bit, we headed out, this time for the #1 rated Jackson MS attraction...
the Jackson Zoo... yea, off to see some animals.
Um, not much of a zoo, not even possible to compare it to our St Louis Zoo. The animals were sad, the cages were nasty, small little cages. (i did get to pet a giraffe... no, i didnt really, but it looks like it!) And again, like EVERYTHING so far in Jackson, MS, nobody was there!
at least this monkey was having a nice, relaxing time..
now it was hot and nasty. now we decided to go to the movies, we chose the Dark Knight, at least this movie got some good reviews!! yea Batman! so before the movie even starts, we end up arguing over the nachos, pretty dumb. we managed to make it through the movie with only a few soggy chips...
unfortunately, there were a few other people at the movie, a gaggle of stupid middle school aged kids who wanted to giggle, run around and open and close their high luminosity cell phones...
Now its time for dinner, finally, we get to go to the Asian place, Pan-Asia, that we couldn't find last night (thanks a lot, google maps!) so we find the place, and wouldn't ya know it, an hour wait... damn, we were too hungry, so we headed back to a pizza buffet place we saw on the way in, not the best gourmet dinner, but we did manage to stuff ourselves..
made it back to the hotel, and what do you know, a few other people have shown up... but guess what, they loud ones are staying right above us... sounds like they are hammering something up there... sheesh
all in all, not how i had hoped the day would go, but i did get to spend it all day long with the woman i love. :) couldnt be any better than that!
